The YHT-390BL Home Theater System has full 5.1-Channel Surround Sound with Top Class Features such as HDMI switching with 1080p Video Pass Through, iPod and Bluetooth Compatibility, CINEMA DSP, Compressed Music Enhancer, and Four SCENE Buttons. - Excellent value overall
This system sounds GREAT!!! :-)The subwoofer has a LOT of power - shakes my whole house (exactly what I wanted)! I play CDs and DVDs mainly. System is good for TV stations too. I am an "audiophile" and therefore can hear SOME distortion compared to my Adcom basic amp, but I am NOT disappointed in the quality of sound for the price! Adcom amps are VERY EXPENSIVE. The receiver lacks a signal strength meter for the FM signal. Many of the bells & whistles I will never use. GREAT SOUND for the money ... Read More

- Best system not just for the buck but for sound.
For years I have searched for a Home Theater system with everything. 1st I bought the Onkyo dvd home surround sound system that came with a SKW 240 sub woofer. The system sounded incredible but the volume only went so high and this was a 600$ plus system. The CD player would not play cds if the minimal amount of scratch was on them.
2. I bought the Cambridge Sound Works Home theater. The speakers are out of this world but once again the volume. No powered sub woofer came with this. Again ... Read More

I just bought this for around $249 new (sans tax and shipping). It arrived today and setting it up was easy.They provided plenty of cable if you know how to route cable efficiently (like under the carpet, inside walls, etc...) or if you have a very small space.If you want to route cable along the baseboard and around corners and around doorways etc...then you may extra speaker wiring.
The receiver + speakers is great for the cost.It sounds pretty decent and has more than enough inputs ... Read More

It must be made explicit that this unit will not transmit sound withoutdigital optical or digital coaxial cable connection in addition to the HDMI connections!!! AND that one of each is necessary since there is just one port for each type on the Yamaha receiver. I was connecting the Direct TV box and a DVDBlu-Ray player to the Yamaha receiver. Even two Amazon technical types were split: one said these cables were not necesary while the other that they were. I finally called Yamaha (not too easy) to get ... Read More

Overall very pleased with product and purchase experience.Price was right for the quality of the product.Delivery was very quick and seamless.
This system has custimizable features that I like, so that when I want to get specific, I can, however, most times I use the preprogramed settings and the system sounds great.
