Life is a complicated journey in which right and wrong are sometimes indistinct and where the things that really matter are often unclear. Bella is a powerful, leisurely-paced film in which Jose (Eduardo Verastegui) and Nina (Tammy Blanchard) struggle to do what's right while seeking meaning in their lives. A quiet, brooding man with a dark past, Jose works as a chef in his brother Manny's (Manny Perez) restaurant where he mostly keeps to himself until young waitress Nina is fired.Touched by Manny's unfair treatment of Nina, Jose impulsively leaves work to follow Nina and spends a day with her where he discovers that she is pregnant and alone. The two become incredibly close in the space of a day, sharing their pasts, feelings, and fears, and a lasting friendship is born. As Nina struggles with her pregnancy options and Jose comes to terms with a horrific incident from his past, the pair's newfound friendship aids in growth and healing. In the end, Jose and Nina's lives become permanently intertwined in a most beautiful and unexpected way. Bella is a moving, introspective film that will inspire serious personal reflection.--Tami Horiuchi

- Bella
So many stories are sad accounts of how not to deal with sorrows of life. They are stories with no hope nor joy to be found.
This is a story that tells us "how" to deal with the struggles of life. It is a story of hope, forgiveness and love.
I love this movie.

- Too Little Too Long
So boring. So empty. The tedious food scenes. The kindergarten dialogue. The drawn out visuals. The pretending that there is a "new" perspective on the eternal dilemma between abortion and adoption and life; there is nothing new, only the same painful anguish of the predicament. What most upset me was the ridiculousness of attributing such high guilt and shame to the most innocent accident. There is no fault, no responsibility; only an accidental tragedy and yet we are supposed to believe that the ... Read More

- Boring Propaganda
I thought this looked like an interesting indie film with an "interesting twist" described on the back.As I watched this film I could barely get through the boring "ordinary day" between Nina and 'Jesus' as they had pointless scenes in NYC that had nothing to do with the plot. The whole film is about pro-life and pro-adoption.That isn't necessarily a bad thing but when you just create a propaganda film without a story it is revolting. Please think of a plot and compelling story before attaching ... - Scarred for life
Hello yeah don't want to rain on everyone's parade but the tragic scene where the little girl is run over and her mother discovers her lifeless body will give me nightmares for the rest of my life.I suppose it's the sign of a good film if a movie can move someone that deeply.Personally I would have prefered to not have watched that horror. Also, well I thought it was somewhat lame that the woman facing the unexpected pregnancy didn't raise her own daughter. And I just wanted to smack her when she ...
