"From the Manufacturer (June 19, 2008)":
Get easy-to-follow voice-guided directions and access to over 3.5 million points of interest with the svelte, stylish Mio Moov 300, which features an extra-large widescreen 4.3-inch LCD for clearer text and more map on the screen. With pre-loaded maps of all 50 U.S. States and Puerto Rico, the Mio Moov 300 is ready to operate in minutes with no computer set-up required. Other features include 1 GB of internal memory, an SD/MMC memory card slot, and up to 2.5 hours of battery life.
The Mio Moov 300 sports a 4.3-inch, square-shaped display (480 x 272-pixel resolution) with a bright, anti-glare screen for easy viewing in any environment. All the controls, buttons and menus accessed via the touchscreen have been optimized for ease of use and fast access to the features you use the most. If you know the address of your destination, you can use the software's address-entry wizard and its on-screen keyboard. You can also use the Multi-stop Trip Planner function if you're running several errands. The Moov 300 allows you to save up to 200 destinations in a favorites list for easy access to your most visited addresses and points of interest.
While most GPS devices will alert you that you are "about to turn left in 100 yards," the Moov 300 goes a step further and includes an advanced Text-to-Speech feature that reads the actual street name as your next turn approaches--enabling you to spend more time watching the road and less concentration on the GPS screen.
Mio Moov devices feature the new SiRFInstantFixII GPS receiver, which deliver faster GPS signal locks so you can begin navigating as soon as you're ready to drive. The SiRFInstantFixII chip can find and lock a GPS signal in as few as five seconds during typical device start-ups, almost half a minute faster than other GPS devices. For users in cities where tall buildings can impede GPS signals--creating "urban canyons"--a fast signal requisition can be the difference between missing a turn and arriving on-time.
Other features include:
Real-Time Traffic Alerts
The Mio Moov 300 is compatible with the optional Traffic Messaging Channel (TMC) subscription service, which can provide real-time updates on accidents, detours and construction that could delay or prevent drivers from reaching their destination. With TMC real-time alerts, you'll be warned early of trouble spots up ahead and get suggestions for routes around the obstruction. While you can add this service to the Moov 300, the Mio Moov 310 comes equipped with TMC right out of the box.

- Mio MOOV 300 - good "price performer"
Having owned a Mio MOOV 200, I purchased the slightly bigger brother when I replaced it. I looked at several competitors when I purchased the 200 and chose it because of the features and price. I've come to rely on the instructions, particularly when in an unfamiliar area. In Atlanta last year, we were driving in heavy rain on a very busy interstate. Visibility was very poor. The MOOV had me in the left lane and I was able to find my left exit without the "dramatics" of crossing 6 lanes of rush-hour ... Read More

- Steadily disappointing
This unit was purchased over 6 months ago. When first used, it was so much better than the MS Streets & Trips with GPS that we had been using for the last 3 years that Mio Moov 300 seemed to be the best value in electronics we had seen in ages. However, continued use has inspired a continued decline in satisfaction.
The InstantFixII technology is a farce. The sales description claimed "connects to satellites much faster". The phrase "much faster" can only be considered valid if the previous version ... Read More

- Okay, poor battery life, bad routing, bad touch screen
This is the second GPS I've ever owned, but the first one was long enough ago that it didn't do routing and had a tiny little monochrome screen.
I've used Garmin nuvi's and the Asus R700.
Pros:
+ relatively cheap in the US (but cost me $300 here in Israel)
+ unlockable
+ English maps for Israel.
+ simple interface (but still hard to use, see below)
Cons:
- Not easy to read in bright sunlight, in my opinion. Impossible to read if the sun ... Read More

- Fantastic
I got this unit for $99 the night before leaving on a week long road trip up and down the East Coast. "Samantha" - the name of the female voice option on the Mio Moov 300 - managed to get us to our locations flawlessly everytime - including some backwoods dirt road intersections that barely show on a normal map. When we tried to find faster/better routes using Google Maps and Mapquest we were unable to. I would recommend this unit to my own mother - and in fact already have!
