- It worked so well...for 1 year!
We bought this last may. It worked great...until last week when it decided that it would no longer reconise any disc. Today I finally got the time to check things out, we bought it 1 yr 2 days ago. Out of warrenty, ugh what a bummer. We had no other problems with it. It worked way better than our last Panasonic dvd player.

The Sony upscaling DVD player is lightweight, small and unintrusive. It works beautifully without being "in your face". The picture is crisp and clear using an S Video cable, and the sound blows you away. It is easier to understand dialogue than on my bother's TV. Also, the picture ratio of the Sony player fits my widescreen LCD TV, whereas the last DVD player I had looked distorted unless I used Zoom. Then I lost the outside edges of the movies. - I see little improvement over my old DVD player
I was very impressed by the many 5 star reviews on Amazon. But now that I've got the Sony, I don't see a significant difference from the very old and cheap DVD player that I've been using for 5 years.
Rating: - Needs more buttons
Unit works and looks good, decent price but really should have buttons on unit to skip to the next track for CD play (you must use the remote for this).

WE hooked this player up to my new 46in Panasonic plasma 1080p tv. WOW ! Now I have to watch all of my dvds again to see what I have missed! The movies I've seen so far are nearly perfect. My friend has a Blue-ray and was astonished how this Sony does so well.
