- Buyer Beware!!!
I wish I could give it zero stars.This is without a doubt, one of the worst pieces of equipment that I've ever bought.I have the same problems as many of the other people here.First, that horrible whining sound makes me want to throw the thing out the window.Now, we can't even make it through a DVD without the thing freezing and restarting.Sometimes, it happens more than once!Sadly, the money that I spent on this thing is a complete waste and I'm going to have to replace it.I can't ... Sony RDR-GX360 1080p Tunerless DVD Recorder I will agree with the other people. This is the biggest POS I have ever bought with the Sony brand name. It will not record from my Dish Network DVR at all. I have another Sony DVD recorder that records great from the same DVR, the only problem, it won't record dual layer. A lot of the movies are over 2 hours. I will NOT slow the recording speed down, just to record over 2 hours. Shame onyou Sony for selling a piece of JUNK under a once proud brand name. ... Read More

I give this DVD recorder only one star - it is absolutely terrible! I cannot recommend this unit - it is a real lemon. It has many design flaws. For example, it does not have a basic on/off light so you cannot easily tell whether the unit is turned on or off. Virtually all electronic components these days have an on/off light on the front. More importantly is the fact that this unit freezes up constantly. You place a DVD in and press play - and nothing happens - all you see is a black TV screen - the ... Read More

- I'm very pleased with this product Sony RDR-GX360
I bought this item more than three month ago since I did not have a DVD recorder. It does work great and very easy to deal with, all you need to have is a manual.
Again very pleased ans I recommend it.
Rating: - Squeezes top and bottom of picture, whining sound
This player does not do well with displaying or recording HDTV content- it squeezes the picture from the top and bottom and there is no way to correct it using the menus.Buy Panasonic's DVD burner instead- it's more expensive but it has a menu option (I believe "letterbox") that removes the squeezing distortion (and doesn't have letterbox either once you zoom your TV display.The Panasonic also doesn't have the whining noise.
