- Wish I'd replaced the original remote sooner
This is a great remote -- yes, it's pricey but it's so much better than the original Tivo remote. I love the feel of the buttons and I took another reviewers advice and got the white instead of the black, which makes it much easier to find in the seat cushions. (I suppose if your sofa is white, that wouldn't be the case).
I haven't had it long enough to comment on the battery life but have been trying to move all our battery usage to rechargeables anyhow.

Works better than original tivo remote. Select button is inside circle rather than below arrows.

- Love This Thing, But...
This is a great remote and it's not too terribly bad on batteries, but I use rechargables.
It's only worth three stars to me because it only has three learning buttons. They could have put another row or two at the bottom making it five star worthy.
Rating: - Perfect Replacement
I ordered this as a replacement to my "stock" remote that came with my TiVo (the printing on the buttons had worn away). I'm very pleased with this remote. It feels sturdier than the standard remote (heavier weight in my hand), and the backlit buttons means that I don't have to worry about the ink wearing away over time. Also, the TiVo seems to respond quicker to button presses with this remote than the old remote. Overall, it makes my TiVo experience snappier.

My husband and I have been avid Tivo fans since it came out.We had the old style sony Tivo remote and then when we got new Tivo's it came with the newer remote.After about 2 years we are still not used to the remote, quite often it gets turned upside down and you end up pressing the wrong buttons.
This new remote makes getting confused a lot less frequent.It has ridges on the bottom so you know which way you are holding it without looking.Also the select button is in the middle of ... Read More
