- I've been using various Linux disto's since 1997 (Slackware 3.8) and
I've watched with interest at the O/S's development. I've also had a lot of frustration trying to get many of the functions to work especially multi-media.
After upgrading to Ubuntu 9.04 I think, I hope and I have my fingers crossed that Linux (Ubuntu) has finally crossed over to an O/S that almost anyone can install on there computer almost as easy as MicroSuck's Windoze O/S (anyone who has tried to install MSuck O/S knows it can be a real pain).

- Plagued with problems
If you are not Linux savvy, you will regret Ubuntu. Network connection can be a headache if your ISP is not using ipV6. Seems like there is no fix. It will sometimes find your ethernet port and sometimes not. Very random. Also, you may have problems with Firefox crashing intermittently. I am going back to Suse. By the way, I have never heard of anyone having intermittent internet connects with Windows. But lots of crashes and freezes.

This UNIVERSAL software DID NOT work with Macbook OS X Leopard. If THIS is what YOU have then the product may not work I TRIED EVERYTHING but nothing worked

I needed to replace my corrupted windows xp O/S, decided to use UBUNTU.sadly my cpu is under-RAMed so i couldn't install the new O/S.I ended up buying a new cpu rather than buying more RAM and a new hard drive.loaded UBUNTU and VISTA on my cpu both work well.

Ubuntu Linux is an amazing OS, I have been using it for over a year as my only OS with no complaints.
That said, i find it insulting as an Ubuntu user that i was able to find Ubuntu under the section for Video Games. (ps: nothing against video games, I just really like Ubuntu and do not like it being referred to as a game.)
p.s. as there can be a learning curve just like with any operating system, it may actually be worth it to some people to purchase this from amazon because ... Read More
