- Great player, easy to use.
Got this for my tech challenged mother.She loves it!Simple to use, no screen to squint at, and long battery life.Songs are stored on an SD card, so upgrading is simple and inexpensive.
Rating: - Great item for a Toddler
I purchased this MP3 player for my 3 year old son.He loves it!His favorite feature is the built-in speaker, however the two outputs are a close second.The shake to advance feature is a lot easier to use than the twist at the bottom.We fit almost 20 CDs worth of kids songs on it.Perfect for our needs.
Rating: - Listening center for 2nd graders
I won a grant for 8 of these about 1 1/2 years ago.I wish I had 12!I loaded about 4-6 children's books on each.They are fabulous!The children point to the words in the books as they are read aloud by fluent readers.Two students can listen with headsets... at their seats (not tethered to the old octopus listening station that I used to use).I use rechargeable AAA batteries.I have thought about buying more data cards and just changing those when needed... now I just reload them from time ... Okay, here are some important drawbacks to the Shaker.
BestBuy and Rhapsody both say the Shaker is Rhapsody compatible. It is in no way compatible. You're just going to have to add tracks to the SD card or device as is - they will not automatically format to mp3.
Which brings us to point two. Mp3 format only. Get a program to convert your non-mp3 files like switch audio file converter.

It's not a fancy, high-tech music machine but the Sansa Shaker is terrific for keeping favorite songs at hand. It clips onto any belt loop and - my absolutely favorite thing about it - the speaker is built in!! This Shaker was purchased as a gift. I've had my own for more than a year and still think it's great.
