I bought this unit from Lowes about 3 weeks ago. Mine came with the free upgrade to the cap (which looks like a good design). I have not had one problem nor does the water taste like plastic. We are very happy with it so far. The only problem is we are all drinking more water now!

- Replacements Parts!!!
OK, so, my unit did not stop pumping, only the reservoir would not fill and I could hear an air leak. The plastic cap they supplied was cracked.SOLUTION?Well, it is clear to me that they hide the ball and want us to be reliant on their overpriced water rather than fill our own bottles. But, I called 866-429-7566, as indicated on the paperwork. They told me that a retrofit probe was developed in February 2009 that would allow the dispenser to be used with any bottle (3 or 5 gallon)...call away, ... - 50/50 chance of it working right
Whatever you do, DON'T buy this online because you have a 50/50 chance of the thing working and its much easier to return if you buy it locally. Over all we really like the cooler but the 1st one we got had a problem of running out of water when the bottle wasn't empty. The cooler has an internal reservoir (to maintain hot/cold water) which is supposed to automatically refill as you poor water but apparently we had a bad sensor or?The water would stop coming out of the cooler when the reservoir became ... - The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly...
I bought this B&D bottom-loading water dispenser two weeks ago.
THE GOOD: It was exactly what I was looking for--great stainless steel and black look, the convenience of a bottom loading unit means no more lifting 5gallon bottles, cold/hot water spigot, and an attractive LCD screen that duals as a night light in the kitchen. For the first week, it was the best thing going.
THE BAD: After one week the realization that I had a lemon hit me when the hot water spigot stopped pouring ... Read More

- Needs Replacement Part Every 6 Weeks
We bought this because itlooks nicer than a top-loading cooler, and it worked well, until the plastic cap that seals the water bottle broke.Mine broke after three months (a few days after the date at which I could still return it to the store). I called costumer service for a replacement and they tell me this cap is only supposed to last 6 weeks on average. They will send a free one while under warranty (two years) after which you'll have to pay $2.75 for every cap. They won't send out more than one while ... Read More
