I have been a professional photographer for little over a year now. My first experience into the world of inkjet printing involved the Epson 2200. It was an overall good experience but it left me always wanting more out of the quality of my black and whites and the efficiency of my printing.
So far, I have been very pleased with the R2880. My b/w photos have drastically increased in image quality and tonal range (grey ink) and the speed of the printing is amazing.(less than a minute ... Read More

Received this printer from my employer as a "thank you gift."Unlike others reviewing the R2880, I have had no issues with the printer, and was making great prints immediately after unpacking and easy set-up.Ink usage at the highest quality setting seems normal (others have called it an ink hog, but I'm just not experiencing that).Looks like a few have had a bad experience, but not me.Maybe some quality control issues have been addressed?

I bought the Epson R2880 inkjet printer about three months ago and I've printed on several types of top quality Epson paper and on Epson canvas almost every day. The R2880 has performed magnificiently. I sell my photos at Art Fairs. The vibrance is superb in color; black and white is very impressive.You have to change the main black cartridge from photo black to matte black depending on the paper you are using.Glossy paper requires PHOTO ... I have owned this printer for only a few days.In that time I have printed over 200 prints.I have printed both 8.5 by 11 and 13 by 19 inch prints without any difficulty.I have also replaced the ink cartridges without any problem.I have not had any contact with epson's tech support because I have not had any problems.
Now for the printer itself.The build quality is solid.Setup was simple and I was printing prints within a few minutes of connecting the printer to my mac.
