I have studied Arabic for several years and I bought this product to keep up what I have learned so far.The first thing I noticed is that all the speakers in this program vowel everything they say.Arabs NEVER vowel their speech, ever.In fact, most Arabs do not know how to correctly vowel.Because this program has its speakers vowel, it is very difficult to understand what they are saying, and the listener would never hear anything like that in the Arab world.I bought this program to specifically ... I really love the Rosetta Stone Arabic program and I do disagree with some of the other reviews here.Arabic is a hard language to learn and Rosetta Stone Arabic is an excellent resource for hearing Formal Arabic outside of the classroom.I have been learning Arabic and using a dialect for day yo day life for a bit under a year now and I find Rosetta Stone gives useful vocabulary, insights on grammar and a great amount of interaction with the language.

I took a chance on this software because I had read the bad reviews on amazon. I needed to learn Arabic for my minor and I wanted a head start. Take it from an 19 year old guy who hates learning languages: This software works! I just have level 1 right now, and after only one core lesson and it's follow up lessons (roughly an hours time) I can now identify several verbs, their female/male counterparts, nouns, individual letters, and a lot more to come. Just a few months ago, I was considering an online subscription. They used to have 3 month, 6 month and one year subscriptions at what I thought were reasonable rates. Since I learn languages quickly, I was eager to take a 6 month subscription of Arabic. Not to be! Yesterday I visited their website and they only offered a one year subscription. I had a demo cd rom sent to me, and did quite well in the Arabic, but the complaint I have with V.3 is this: It isn't anything like the older versions, and maybe that is ... Read More

The software is only average, but my biggest issue is that everyone knows with such activation and deactivation issues, the company should be willing to provide around the clock support. Otherwise make the activation and deactivation process easier. In fact, you can't even deactivate from a computer without calling tech support. Once it is deactivated you can never install it to the deactivated computer again...ever!! How ridiculous!
