She Ain't Me is an expectation-confounding statement from Carrie, who notes, "Because I took some chances, wrote with some new people and actually co-wrote most of the songs on the album, it's very different." For She Ain't Me, the Austin-born, Berklee-trained violinist-turned-fiddler teamed with producer Malcolm Burn (Emmylou Harris, Patti Smith, Kaki King) and wrote with Gary Louris of the Jayhawks, as well as Mary Gauthier, Dan Wilson, and Jim Boquist. The album also features a guest vocal appearance by Lucinda Williams.

- Carrie Rodriguez's new, sometimes sultry record, "She Ain't Me", hits the mark-
I first heard and saw Ms. Rodriguez on a video with Chip Taylor. The sense of site first caught my attention. She is truly a beautiful person in her appearance, but then I heard her voice. I was drawn closer to her. Then she played her fiddle! I was done for. It was as if I was a sailor on a greek ship being drawn into the rocks by the Sirens. But in a good way!

New to Carrie's music, but this is an awesome disc. I'm having trouble removing it from my CD player! Love the vocals and fiddle playing!

Carrie Rodriguez has to be one of the best young artists out there today.She shows she can play many styles with tremendous ability.This CD just makes you want to hear more.

I'm not too familiar with Carrie's music. But this album made me want to get to know her. It doesn't sound like traditional country music at all. I'm not sure if this is country rock or neo country music. It sounds just right for me. I can't stop listening to her album now.
