Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Fast speeds, 5Ghz requires a direct line of sight
I initially purchased this router to replace my Linksys WRT-350N. The 2.4Ghz signals on the WRT610N were stronger than the WRT350N.However my notebook with Intel 4965AGN would not connect to the 5Ghz band from approx 75 feet and two walls away.

I now have overlapping 2.4Ghz broadcasts and a 5Ghz signal close to where my notebook computer is.The data transfer rates I get when moving files to my NAS are equivalent on the 5Ghz and a wired 1gigabit LAN.(I have ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Fast for New PCs (Get Tech Support for Install)
For especially new PCs (or laptops) this router seems to have the performance desired.Web pages load faster than any I've experienced before.

Concerned with set-up, I called tech support and they had it running in about 15 minutes.

So far, no problems with Vista x64.

500 Ghz for (new) laptop; 2.4 Ghz for other devices (PC and Xbox 360).

Range may be slightly limited but quite satisfactory.Beats my old router that cuts out every few hours. ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - REVIEW AND GUIDE FOR A NON TECHIE.
To everyone looking for an upgrade from wireless G to wireless N router and also for people who badly need a little extra coverage of wireless signal, I had both the problems and I was going through different routers particularly linksys wrt160n, wrt320n and wrt610n & D link dir 655. Going through the reviews of these routers i had feelihg that linksys wrt610n and Dlink dir 655 are the best, but I narrowed down to linksys Wrt610n because it was more advanced even though there were a lot of ... Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Satisfied
I'm using this router for my home network with Brighthouse Tampa as my ISP.I did need to update the router's Firmware to version 1.00.02 B10 for it to reliably hold wireless connections to my Windows XP based laptops.Other than this its performance has been quite good.My only complaint about the router is I am not able to see the IP addresses of connected devices via its Web interface.Instead I had to install a software product from Linksys called the EasyLink Advisor which does present a nice ... Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - version 1.0 firmware and it shows also. thinking of returning it
the 300 mbit connection only seems to work if i am in the same room. going to another room can reduce
the speed down to 40 mbit. i have an older mac mini core duo, the 2006 version. something about this router does not like my mac. anytime i go to any website on the mac, theres a 15-45 second delay for a web page
to load. the mac was fine before. i called linksys tech support. i stumped them. i even took the mini out of my bedroom and connected it directly to the router and the problem was ... Read More
