Naphthalene, the leading ingredient in traditional moth balls, not only smells terrible but has been linked to nasal cancer and can lead to hemolytic anemia, the breakdown of red blood cells. This toxin can be transferred to the user from protected fabrics; to the fetus during pregnancy; or to a baby while breastfeeding. So, other than completely stripping the closet bare, removing the carpet, and washing with bleach, how do we protect our valuables and ourselves from hungry baby moths?
