- Web navigation, eMail and Instant Messaging (IM). Panda sends queries to the cloud whenever an executable program is received. Keep in mind that it is not very common to receive executables, dll files, etc via this media.
- On-access scan (processes/libraries loaded in memory). How does it work? Imagine that 40 files are loaded in memory; Panda sends a query to the cloud and confirms them to be good ware. A couple of hours later, there are 42 programs uploaded in memory, from which 40 were already loaded and checked before. Panda will ONLY perform the check for the new 2 programs, since the other 40 have been checked before. A minimum PC and bandwidth consumption is used when sending queries to the cloud.
- On-demand scans. Whether is automatic or on-demand, Panda also sends queries to the cloud.

I've used Panda internet protection software for 2-3 years now and like it better than McAfee and the other products. Plus, buying from amazon lowers the cost and each box you buy allows you to use the software on up to 3 machines. So it's a good deal. If you buy it, don't renew it through panda, just buy it again from amazon for the best rate. You'll like this product -it's much more clear and easy to use than it's competitors products.

Be aware that Panda Software feels that they have the right to send you marketing emails FOREVER, even if you unsubscribe repeatedly, which I did, and which they have acknowledged I did. Since declining a renewal in the fall of 2007, I've received a number of marketing emails from them, the latest on April 28, 2009. ... Read More

I have used Panda now for 2 years running. It is easy to use, runs in the background, and doesn't bog my system down. Plus I can use the 3 user license to cover 2 friends computers. I also like the Panda icon in my tray. It continues my "bear" theme. Seriously though it is a good product that has worked well for me and my friends. The only drawback is that when it comes time to renew, the prices at Panda are double what Amazon charges. So I bought it from Amazon instead of renewing with Panda. Then ... Read More

I was a user of Webroot's Antivirus with Spysweeper. I was satisified with that but the unintegrated firewall was a problem for me. I ended up using Vcom's System Suite but that did not have the benefit of Webroot's automatic update. My son suggested Panda to me and I installed it when my Webroot subscription expired. Panda had automatic updates and an integrated firewall. Immediately I had trouble installing it as it detected the presence of Webroot and would not go any further. My efforts to uninstall ...
