This Refrigerator Water Filter is used in Amana refrigerators with filter access inside the refrigerator. Simply turn the Refrigerator Water Filter to remove and replace. While retaining beneficial fluoride, this NSF Certified Refrigerator Water Filter reduces cysts, chlorine taste and odor, particulates (class I), and lead. The contaminants or other substances removed or reduced by this water filter are not necessarily in all users' water. The 3-pack filter combo included the same Amana filters that are available elsewhere, but the per unit cost was about 30% less.However, I still think that water filters are overpriced, including this 3-pack set.Otherwise I would have rated this set a "5".

Amana WF401S Clean N Clear Refrigerator Water Filter, 1-Pack
This is a great price for these refrigerator water filters. I checked all over town and couldn't find this particular filter at any store other than Sear's. It was less expensive here, and it was a real Amana filter for our Amana refrigerator, not a Kenmore or other brand. You can really save by buying three at a time.

The price for this filter, in my opinion, is expensive. Don't understand why it has to be so expensive if Amana expect you to purchase 2 a year. I try to make it last longer than the 6 months recommended.My refrigerator water system begins to slow its flow after about 8 months but I hang on until approx. 12 months before changing out.Of course if it was cheaper then I would change out at recommended time frame.

I ordered this this filter with the correct item number and received a completely different one filter that did not fit.I had to go through the trouble of sending it back and I still don't have a filter.I'm afraid that if I re-order it, they will send the wrong one again.So, I am going to try another source.This is unlike Amazon, usually I get what I order. Right now I am very disappointed.

we've had out fridge for over 10 years now and it uses this type of filter. You can really notice the difference once a new filter has been placed. Ten years, replacing it every six months...so Amana...you should send me a freebie soon for being a loyal customer.
