Rating: - A disaster
As mentioned in many previous reviews this program has an excellent chance of messing up your computer. After installing on a XP computer and running a backup I found my computer would not boot up. I am pretty computer savy and, after a day of work, was able to boot from a CD and undo the installation. If you want to take a look at the work involved go to the Acronis support section,

Rating: - works to restore in Vista - recommended
I just used this product to restore the entire hard drive image file in Vista, it worked fine.No need to disable my antivirus program either.It worked from inside windows too, which the old Norton Ghost would not do.For my system, it was a real savour.
Rating: - Great for upgrading Boot Drive
I got a new larger boot drive and needed to copy the original boot drive partition to the new disk and expand the partition to the full size of the new disk.The procedure was simple:

1. Physically installed the new drive
2. Installed the new software and ran it.
3. It prepared to copy the boot drive and then rebooted the system.
4. It performed the actual copy of the boot drive right before Windows comes up fully.This takes a long time.YMMV based on how much data ... Read More

Not much to say.It works the way it's supposed to, and it's relatively easy to use.I'm trying the Windows 7 RC, and I bought Acronis TI to restore Vista when the RC runs out next year.It took over 4 hours to back up my 400GB HD, but now I'm good to go.I use SyncToy, a free program from MS, to back up files created since I installed the RC so I can restore them once I go back to Vista.

Been playing with computers for years, so somewhat a geek. Installed acronis software, and did a backup to my slave drive. Put in new C drive and booted off the Acronis boot disk I had made and did a renew. The new drive worked, but it has some minor problems. WIth my old HD it seen all my extra SD, Compact flash and ect drives.
