- What a find!
A great fusion of Latin jazz and classical influences, a wonderful background to dinner parties, reading, and even close listening for the melding of cultures.

- Afro-Cuban Meets the Irish
This CD is a lot of fun.Tiempo Libre is up to the challenge of playing with one of the world's great classical musicians.I have heard Galway play jazz before, but his playing sounded all wrong. His tone is too pure; his technique too square. However, this blend of Afro-Cuban and well-polished classical flute worked well in the O'Reilly Streetperformances.Tiempo Libre is an amazing group.Galway's beautiful singing tone made a wonderful combination with the Cubans' stylings.

- Wonderful Addition To My Musical Library
If you like Galway, Tiempo Libre, Cuban music or light Latin jazz this is a no brainer.Jimmy always delivers the goods. This Latin spin on some foundation jazz compositions of Claude Bolling`s is delightful. The rest of the album is the whipped cream, nuts and cherry.

"This is such a great album! It really combines the best of two amazing worlds.Tiempo Libre's virtuosity and rhythmic charge are irresistible. And, of course, there is a reason why Galway is considered the greatest flute player in the world. His chops are unparalleled. But that sound - absolutely bewitching.Put Galway and and Tiempo Libre together and you get an album that is impossible to stop listening to.There is such joy in all the music-making.This was obviously a labor of love for ... O'Reilly Street hits the spot by blending appealing, baroque-inspired themes to perfection with hot, Latin jazz rhythms. Sir James Galway, the world-famous flutist, joins Grammy-nominated, Cuban music group Tiempo Libre in a high energy set. Features a fast-paced, exuberant interpretation of selections from the Bolling Suites, plus several new works composed/arranged by Tiempo Libre's Jorge Gomez. At age 69, Galway shows no signs of slowing down -- "the man with the golden flute" is as agile and amazing ... Read More
